Tutors are responsible for assessing students on their performance in the CBL cluster. Students are also responsible for assessing their tutor as well, and this reciprocal process is called the “Assessment Handshake”. See Student and Tutor Assessment. In addition, tutors are encouraged to give mid-cluster feedback, in person if possible, to all students in the group. See Giving and Receiving Feedback.
New tutors, and tutors who are applying for promotion and tenure, may receive a peer observation by an experienced CBL tutor. The Observer Record is shared with the program and with the tutor’s Department. See Peer Observation.
