Courses and Clusters
Year 2 CBL Tutorials are held on Wednesday and Friday, 8:00-9:50am in the Diamond Health Care Centre, UBC. Pre-cluster Tutor meetings are held on the Thursday before the start of each cluster at 5pm - 6pm on Zoom, and Tutor weekly meetings every Friday at 10am. Details about each cluster will be emailed 1-2 weeks prior to the cluster starting.
The CBL Clusters in Year 2 for 2023-24 are as follows:
Term 1
- MEDD 421A (Wednesday, August 30 – Friday, September 22) 4 weeks
- (Neonatal Transition, Chromosomal Abnormalities, Normal and Abnormal Growth and Development, Adolescent Growth and Development)
- MEDD 421B (Monday, September 27 – Friday, October 27) 5 weeks
- (Rash, Arrhythmia, Joint Injury, Fracture (Child Maltreatment), Osteoporosis)
- MEDD 421C (Wednesday, November 1 – Friday, December 1) 5 weeks
- (Deep Vein Thrombosis/Pulmonary Embolism, Acute Kidney Infection, Chronic Kidney Disease, Ataxia/Movement Disorder/Tremor, Psychosis)
Term 2
- MEDD 422A (Wednesday, January 3 – January 26) 4 weeks
- (Chest Pain/Angina/Myocardial Infarction, Nausea/Vomiting/Diarrhea, Osteoarthritis, Heart Failure)
- MEDD 422B (Wednesday, January 31 – Friday, February 23) 4 weeks
- (Jaundice, Pregnancy, Birth and Newborn, Inflammatory Joint Disease, Abnormal Vaginal Bleeding)
- MEDD 422C (Wednesday, February 28 – Friday, March 22) 4 weeks
- (Prostate Cancer, Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia & Other GU Tumors, Sepsis, Hypotension/Shock, Dementia)
- MEDD 422D (Friday, April 5 & Friday, April 12 only) 2 weeks
- (Transition into Clinical Education)
